Description
This resource provides a directions and recording sheet for students to create a bridge under certain constraints. They want the bridge to hold the most weight, and be the lowest cost. It requires students to "buy" the materials they want to use by evaluating which would be the best options. It also requires students to create two different bridges to show improvements and evaluate test results. Each step of the design process is NGSS aligned. Students have to record their evidence to prove their understanding. Can be completed independently, but I recommend working in small groups. Download the engineering rubric for an assessment tool.
