Description

This is a PowerPoint file designed to be used as a digital manipulative for distance learning. Each slide includes images of ingredients for a hamburger that can be dragged and dropped to create a hamburger.

You can simply drop and drag each ingredient onto the plate to create a burger. There are five of each item per slide. You can do an “expanded burger” or tuck them close together.

Here are some of the ways I've used it so far:

  • Use as a fixed ratio reinforcement game in drill-play (i.e., say 10 /g/ words then build a burger).
  • In teletherapy, use it to encourage verbal output by asking the student to you each piece to move.
  • If your tele-platform allows, give the student mouse control and have them practicing following multi-step directions by listening to you tell them which ingredients to add.
  • Create a carrier phrase with a grammar target:
    • Possessive pronouns: “MY burger gets _____.” vs “YOUR burger gets ____.”
    • Progressive –ing: “I am puttING. ___ on the hamburger.”
    • Possessive ‘s (add a clipart person with a name): “Name’s burger gets…” vs “Kamal’s burger gets…”

*If you download, please leave feedback. Everyone appreciates!*
