Description

In this project based learning math activity, students begin by designing a gingerbread house. They then add up their costs, including labor. After adding the mark-up, they finalize a price and begin their marketing. They develop creative and compelling language to include in their culminating brochure.

Students learn and develop skills in the following areas:

  • Design
  • Addition and subtraction with decimals (there is an option for whole numbers)
  • Multiplication (solving for area)
  • Descriptive and persuasive writing
  • Revising and Editing
  • Reflection

This project aligns will all essential components of PBL and all parts are provided in both digital and print form.

Students will love designing and marketing their gingerbread homes as they develop entrepreneurial skills along the way!
