Butterfly Bump!
EVERYTHING available in color and black & white!

A Butterfly / Spring Themed Math Center, Game, and Printable

Objective: Students will add to 12 or 18. Using 2 dice, students will demonstrate fluency in addition to 12. Using 3 dice, students will demonstrate fluency in addition to 18.

Materials:
- 2 or 3 six sided dice (Numerals 1-6)- Not included.
- 10 cubes for each student. Each student should have a different color. You can use cubes or blocks.
- 1 "Butterfly Bump" board for a pair of students
- Extension Worksheet

Procedure:
- Print and laminate the "Butterfly Bump" board for durability.
- Give one board, 2 or 3 dice, and 10 cubes or two different colors to a pair of students.
- Students will take turns rolling the two or three dice. Each student will add the two or three numbers together and cover the number with their cube.
- If the student rolls a number that has already been covered, then they can “bump” the other student’s cube off the space.
- If a student is able to put two of their cubes on one space, then they have “locked” that space. Their cubes can no longer be bumped!
- The first person to use all their cubes wins!!!
- Students will complete the extension worksheet to demonstrate their addition fluency.
