How to use this Product:
-Students are asked to complete math performance task for their SBA assessment. This resources has been developed to help students build and gain stamina when working on the tasks. Each task is based on one theme and the questions all relate to the theme.
-The answers tend to depend on each other so this resources teaches children to go back and check their work.
-You can use this resources in a number of different ways. Each performance task could be done in one sitting or worked on over a few days. Students can work on it individually, as a small group, in partners, or you could use it as an entire class resource.
There will be five tasks in this bundle. The bundle should be complete by the end of March.
The themes are as follows:
1. Camping Supplies- adding and subtracting, explanation of thinking
2. Measuring your Room- area, adding, subtracting, explanation of thinking
3. Planning a Field Trip
4. Art Class Supplies
5. TBA
Problems focus on common areas where students struggle on SBA performance tasks-
-Extracting information
-Referencing tables/graphs
-Making Plans
-Critiquing Student Work
-Explaining their thinking
-Using mathematical language
