Have you ever stared at a list of the Common Core State Standards and felt completely overwhelmed? It’s a struggle to keep all the standards in your brain for your own grade level, to say nothing of the knowledge and skills students might need be missing from previous grades AND what knowledge and skills they will be expected to master in future grades!
I had this same struggle...what’s more, I wanted a standards-based way to collaborate with colleagues across grade levels so that our conversations could be purposeful and students could have consistent experiences as they progressed through school! I created the Math Vertical Alignment Wizard to make it easy to see each strand of the Common Core State Standards’ progression from year to year!
With this resource, you will be able to:
⭐ See and print your standards and those of the grades above and below all in one helpful view, saving you valuable time and avoiding frustration!
⭐ Be fully prepared with the knowledge of where students are coming from and where they should be headed.
⭐ Differentiate according to students’ needs because you will have the knowledge of what students should have learned in previous years and what they will be expected to master in upcoming years
⭐ Conduct purposeful and standards-based conversations with colleagues, leading to better outcomes for students!
⭐ View the standards by strand (for example, only the Numbers in Base Ten strand, or only the Measurement and Data strand) to avoid feeling overwhelmed!
