Description
This Christmas Themed Color Sort and Match activity is a fun way to teach or reinforce basic colors and color word recognition. The fun Christmas Theme can be motivating your students throughout the month of December!
Included:
- 10 Color Mats
- 120 color picture cards
Color Picture Cards:
- red
- green
- yellow
- blue
- purple
- orange
- brown
- pink
- white
- black

This activity works great for early intervention, toddlers, pre-schoolers, pre-kinders, special education, speech therapy classrooms, or even as a fun holiday center for kindergarten. Arrange as many color mats in front of your students you think is appropriate, and provide the color picture cards (cut up) in a basket. You might want to start out small with 2 or 3 color mats and then work your way up to all colors. You now have a simple yet effective color sort your students will love, and will most likely be able to do by themselves. Students simply choose a picture card from the basket and place it on the corresponding color mat.
Use these color sorts by simply printing them out (in color) for students to use and/or take home. Another option is to make them more sturdy by affixing them to either tagboard or construction paper for use year after year. They easily store in a baggie, file folder, or two-pocket folder.
