This holiday emergent reader is designed to build knowledge of sight words, including color words. 1-to-1 correspondence can be practiced while reading more complex sentences. Print the book in black line. Invite your students to color the pictures, thus providing more text support. Teaching activities are provided by a Reading Recovery™ teacher. Use this text for guided reading in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade (1st grade).
