CVC Decodable Sentences Strips: Reading Fluency Activity!

Bring the magic of reading into your classroom with our fun CVC decodable sentence strips game aligned with the Science of Reading! This phonics-based activity uses decodable fonts and is perfect for students ages 3-7 for independent work, centers, or homework. This is the perfect way to build reading fluency and comprehension while students practice CVC short vowels A, E, I, O, and U.

How to Use

Each student or small group should have their own set of sentence strips and their own piece of paper with images. Students will choose a sentence strip, and then color its corresponding picture using markers, crayons, or other art materials. Then, they will add the number of the sentence strip to the number box near the picture.

  • Sentence strips
  • Picture page
  • Markers/crayons/colored pencils
