30 CVC Mixed Picture Mats:

2 Word Family Vocabulary Check Mats:

• for picture preview of all word families & student self-check/reference

How to Use:

• Begin by introducing, checking and/or building vocabulary and word families by previewing the vocabulary picture mats.
• Students will select a card, read it and match it to its picture partner by covering it on the mat. (Cover with the word card or bingo chips)
• Students can read CVC words or tap out the letter/sounds using the differentiated cards.
• Three sets of picture mats & word cards mix 2 different families.
• Two sets of picture mats & word cards mix all six word families.

• Once play has been completed, students may remove each card from the mat by reading & checking the picture for accuracy, and then use their cards to sort into like word families.

• Can be played independently or in small groups

Assembly Directions

• Print each set of picture mats and mount onto card-stock. Laminate.
• Print each of the CVC word cards (either with dots OR without dots) and mount onto card-stock. Laminate. Cut into cards.

• Picture mats and word cards are color-coded for easy grouping.
