Description

This Google Slide lesson is a resource that teachers can use to quickly practice reading and spelling CVC words with the short /o/ sound. The first part of the lesson is practicing decoding CVC /o/ words by sounding out each letter, and then blending all the sounds to read the whole word.

In the second part of the lesson, students have to unscramble the three letters given to correctly spell the CVC /o/ word shown. Students can write directly onto the screen if the teacher is using some sort of interactive board. In my classroom, I like to have all students be engaged by having them unscramble and spell on their own dry erase boards or in their Reading Journals.

This lesson is designed to be used as a whole group or small group lesson. It can also be used for one-on-one instruction for students who might need intervention or enrichment.
