Description

In this set, you’ll find 115 printable CVC words practice pages to help your students develop strong encoding and decoding skills. Students will have opportunities to blend and segment a variety of CVC words as they find and produce words to match easy-to-understand pictures. Within each of the nine worksheet styles, you will find some that cover a single medial short vowel sound and some that allow for mixed practice (of two or all five short medial vowels).

This set is also included in a money-saving CVC Bundle.

What's included in this CVC set?

This set includes nine styles of CVC words worksheets with various ways for students to practice reading and spelling.

✅ 10 Simple Sorts

These simple cut-and-glue picture sorts each focus on two medial vowels. Students cut out eight pictures and glue each into the correct section.

✅ 10 Sort & Spell Pages

These sorts include the extra step of writing the words after sorting six pictures into the correct columns.

✅ 18 Read & Match Pages

Students cut out 10 CVC pictures and glue each next to the correct word. This style includes single vowel pages, pages that include two vowels, and pages with mixed practice of all five vowels.

✅ 18 Trace & Find

Students trace and read a CVC word and then circle the picture that matches the word (out of three choices). This style includes single vowel pages, pages that include two vowels, and pages with mixed practice of all five vowels.

✅ 18 Write the Word Pages

To practice encoding, students write a CVC word next to each of ten pictures. This style includes single vowel pages, pages that include two vowels, and pages with mixed practice of all five vowels.

✅ 23 Missing Letter Pages

Students cut and glue the missing letter into eight CVC words. This style includes missing beginning, medial, and ending sounds and has pages that include only one vowel, two vowels, and all five vowels.

✅ 6 Read & Draw Word Pages

Students read four-six CVC words and draw a picture to show their understanding. This style includes one page for each vowel and one page with mixed practice.

✅ 6 Read & Draw Sentence Pages

Students read decodable sentences that include CVC words and draw a picture to show their understanding. This style includes one page for each vowel and one page with mixed practice.

✅ 6 CVC Mini-Books

Students cut and glue pictures to match CVC words and then assemble a mini-book to practice reading. These mini-books use only one sheet of paper a piece and have a single word on each page. There is one book for each vowel and one with all five vowels.

How can I use these CVC worksheets in the classroom?

These CVC worksheets are useful in small groups, as independent practice, for homework, and can even be used as a literacy center. Because there are multiple pages within each style, students benefit from repeated practice with similar tasks. The included pictures were chosen to be kid-friendly and easy to understand, but a key is included to avoid any confusion.
