Description

Here is an easy way to track student data when learning CVC/CCVC words. My Word Family Assessment and Take Home Practice Pack is a great way to help students master and practice CVC words and track their progress along the way. This pack comes with assessment pages, flash cards, student progress trackers and word lists. In my classroom, I introduce a word family and send home flashcards and a word list associated with that word family for students to practice. After a few days, I pull students to track their progress. If they can read all the words in that word family – I move them on to the next one and have students fill out their tracking chart so that they can see their progress. I keep student data in individual file folders. You can also use them in small group settings as well, organizing by grade level. There is very little prep required. All you need to do is print!

In this PRINT & GO product, the data forms are available in color or B&W. You can either organize the forms in a binder or individual student file folders. I have used both options and they both work great!

*WORD FAMILIES INCLUDED*

SHORT A - (-ab, -ad, -ag, -am, -an, -ap, -ar, -at, -ax)

SHORT E - (-eb, -ed, -eg, -em, -en, -et)

SHORT O - (-ob, -od, -og, -om, -on, -op, -ot, -ox)

SHORT U - (-ub, -ud, -ug, -um, -un, -up, -us, -ut, -ux)

- TEACHER ASSESSMENT SHEETS: Print the assessments that you need for each student. They are split by vowel and each corresponding word family is on the assessment sheet.

- WORD LISTS: Print word lists and place in sheet protectors and store in a binder. When you are ready to assess a student, choose the appropriate word family and they will read the words from that list as you check off on your teacher assessment sheet.

- TAKE HOME PRACTICE LISTS & FLASHCARDS: As students begin progressing to new a new word family, send home a practice list and flashcards for them to use or place in their book baggies/bins for extra practice.

- STUDENT TRACKERS: Each time a student is ready to level up to a new word family, have them fill in their progress chart. Students will color up the grid until they have completed/able to read all of the word family words for that vowel. My students love these because they are abel to see their progress along the way!
