Description
This foldable is designed to accompany a cake core sampling activity that students will do to investigate the relationship between layers of the earth and evidence for organisms changing over time. The instructions for the core sampling are intentionally quite vague so that the teacher has the freedom to choose the best fit for the group (whole cake, cupcakes, large groups, individuals, etc). This can easily be adapted to work with students from elementary through high school ages in a traditional classroom, after school activity, or homeschool setting! There is a short problem introduction motivating students to do the activity as well as brief concept explanations in the front panel.
