Through this lab the students will be able to measure the mass with a triple beam balance and volume in two ways, measurement with a ruler and water displacement with a graduated cylinder.

The students will be able to use a formula to calculate the density of five different items.

I used this lab first to give my students an understanding of what measurements they were calculating. I then used the Calculating Density worksheets to determine if the students understood the concept.
