Description

SPEED, DISTANCE, TIME: Twelve unique worksheets and seventy-two task cards help students calculate speed from distance and time, distance from speed and time, and time from distance and speed. These popular Skills Practice worksheets help your students master all the speed calculations. With scaffolded questions, students will learn how to perform all of the calculations involved in using the speed formula. With twelve different versions, your students will get the practice they need. Printable, digital, and online quizzes give you a variety of options.

Features that make these a great value:

  • Printable PDF—Included in your packet is a printable PDF. It includes the three Skills Practice sheets and the answer keys for each. These are ready to print and hand out to your students so they can practice their computational skills using formula math related to density. Print one or all six depending on your students' needs.
  • Self-Checking Checksum—Whether you decide to print the Skills Practice sheets or make them a digital assignment, the checksum allows students to easily confirm they have completed all calculations accurately.
  • Answer Sheets—Your time is valuable. Included with each Skills Practice is an answer key with all work shown.
  • Google Slide—In addition to the print version, your purchase grants you access to the original, editable document created in Google Slides. If you want to make changes, remove the Checksum, or use them for digital assignments. Make your own copy of the Google Slide and you are ready to go.
  • Google Forms Quizzes—I have also included access to online, self-grading quizzes. All three versions of the skills practices are available for immediate assignment to your students.
  • 1:1 Classroom Enhanced—Assign the Google Slide or Quiz through Google Classroom or other classroom management platform and your students can complete their practice right on their own computer.
  • Interactive PowerPoint—The interactive PowerPoint is great for whole-class instruction, review, or test prep.

I LOVE this resource! I use it each year without fail. The biggest thing I am thankful for is the ability to use it easily in the classroom as a normal task card activity. If we need to transfer to distance learning, I love that I am able to still use this resource very easily.

NGSSMS-PS2-2
Plan an investigation to provide evidence that the change in an object’s motion depends on the sum of the forces on the object and the mass of the object. Emphasis is on balanced (Newton’s First Law) and unbalanced forces in a system, qualitative comparisons of forces, mass and changes in motion (Newton’s Second Law), frame of reference, and specification of units. Assessment is limited to forces and changes in motion in one-dimension in an inertial reference frame, and to change in one variable at a time. Assessment does not include the use of trigonometry.
NGSSMS-PS2-1
Apply Newton’s Third Law to design a solution to a problem involving the motion of two colliding objects. Examples of practical problems could include the impact of collisions between two cars, between a car and stationary objects, and between a meteor and a space vehicle. Assessment is limited to vertical or horizontal interactions in one dimension.
