Description

This concise, to the point and no-prep calculating unit rate lesson is a great way to teach & introduce how to find the unit rate of real world situations. This lesson goes over what the unit rate is, how to find it, and how to compare unit rates. There are seven problems that include a variety of practice. Students and teachers love how easy these notes are to follow and understand.

These notes get straight to the point of the skill being taught, which I have found is imperative for the attention span of middle schoolers! They are also a great tool for students to refer back to.

For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
