Description
This pdf contains the links to three folders that contain a total of 71 Calculus Power Point lessons. Some of the slides may not view correctly in Google Docs and therefore should be downloaded before being used in the classroom. They are highly animated and completely editable. These instructional lessons include pictures, graphs, math songs, videos, and humor to keep students engaged and make learning memorable. The lessons are concept driven and also provide plenty of examples and applications. They are organized per the AP AB & BC courses but can be used in any Calculus course, AP or not. The PPs are intended to involve the students in reading from the screen, making conjectures, predicting next steps, and asking questions. Teachers should wait for students to do calculations, call on individuals for answers and/or prompt with “Everyone?” to illicit group responses. In other words, teachers are expected to use the PPs in an interactive way. These lessons should be followed by students working problems individually or in groups as much as possible because learning mathematics is a three-legged stool: understanding, practicing, and reviewing. These PPs provide understanding and review. However, practice needs to be provided by the instructor.
Susan Cantey is offering these PPs at this extremely low price as it is her desire to help teachers, especially young teachers, with their demanding job. Why should teachers have to re-invent the wheel when these lessons have already been developed for them by a retired teacher with 42 years of teaching experience? Susan is also available by email to help answer any questions. Happy teaching!
