Description

This is a project designed to be used at any time during the school year. It especially lends itself to being used at the end of the year, but it can be used after learning related rates, volume, or optimization.

The project consists of a poster and a written part. The student will be required to create a situation in which they would need to solve a related rates, volume, or optimization problem. The student will design a poster to show the situation and the problem and will also write a about the situation that involves the solution to the problem.

This packet contains scoring rubrics for the poster and the written part to use for scoring the projects as well as a scoring sheet. The rubrics can be printed out and given to students to show how each part will be scored. There is also a sheet with instructions for the students and an example of a poster for them.

If desired, the posters can be presented to the class by the students for another component of the project. A rubric for an oral presentation is included with this packet.
