Use daily relevant numbers to teach and reinforce math skills. Using numbers of the Day of School, Month, Day of Month, and Year, students compute the answers to math problems across all strands. To vary the numbers, some problems have the students add the digits of the day of the month or day of school to generate new numbers. Some skills covered are mean/median/mode, negative integers, computation using fractions and decimals, percentage, and area/ perimeter. After doing the same type of problem every Monday, every Tuesday, etc, students become familiar with the concept before it is taught and then after learning it is reinforced every week using different numbers.
