Description
This is a viewing guide to accompany the YouTube channel StudioBinder's "The Ultimate Guide to Camera Movement — Every Camera Movement Technique Explained [The Shot List Ep6]".
This is a great 30 minute video that covers 12 types of camera movements used in film. The link to the video is at the top of the download. The worksheet is 46 fill-in-the-blank and open ended questions that cover each movement with a answer key included. This took most of my 50 minute class period to cover, as I often paused the video to check on students' understanding and progress. Most of the questions are spaced out so students can actually watch the shots without losing interest.
Disclaimer: If you have not watched this video yourself, I highly recommend you do before purchasing this resource to make sure it is appropriate for your students. There is nothing that would not be shown on television and I would rate the content PG-13. However, there are several clips with cursing, but the cursing is bleeped out both in audio and in the captions. There are also several clips with guns, violence, gory images and sexually suggestive images. This was not an issue for my high schoolers as the video still does qualify as PG-13, but you still don't want to be surprised when you show any videos to students. There is one clip that I chose not to show my students, which is at 2:40. The video does give a warning of graphic content before showing, so that gives enough time to freeze the projector and skip ahead.
