Description

This multi-lesson activity is designed for students to explore rhythm identification and composition. What's a better way to get students excited about a lesson than talking about CANDY!

Learning Targets: Students can identify the number of sounds in the names of candy. Students can describe the difference between rhythm and beat. I can compare and categorize items based on their rhythmic value. Students can keep a steady beat when speaking in rhythm. Students can create their own four-beat rhythm patterns. Students can read and write proper rhythmic notation based on aural and visual information.

I have also included teaching notes and sequence suggestions throughout the slideshow. This lesson can take from 2-3 30-minute classes to complete based on the level of depth you wish to pursue in the activities.
