Description

Categorizing words and information is an important skill that spans across content areas and disciplines. Category Word Hunts force students to think creatively as they search for words to fit designated categories, with the added challenge of being given the first letter of the words. For example, students may have to think of a noun that starts with “R”, or a color that starts with “S”. Use the given categories, or use a blank template and fill in your own categories! Students will love the challenge of completing the chart alone or with partners!

Category Word Hunts can be used for…
• Team building activities in the beginning of the year
• Centers activities
• Review or practice topics you’re studying. Choose categories for your students like…Parts of Speech, Geographical Features, etc.
