These fun caterpillar color AB, AAB, ABB, ABC repeating pattern clip cards are great for students to practice and develop their sequencing and critical thinking skills. Using the caterpillar themed color pattern task card students will match the patterns, find what comes next, what is missing, identify the core pattern and name the core pattern.
These easy to prepare task cards are a great addition to math centers for use with pre-k, kindergarten and 1st grade and can be used for morning work, small group activity, early intervention, early finishers or homeschool learning.
Preparation
- Print on heavy card stock or laminate for greater durability.
- Cut out cards and use.
How To Use
Find the matching pattern?
- Students identify the caterpillar with the same pattern.
- A clothes pin or manipulative can be placed on the the matching caterpillar at the bottom of the card.
What comes next? / What is missing in the sequence?
- Students identify the pattern.
- A clothes pin or manipulative can be placed on the the color at the bottom of the card to indicate what comes next or is missing in the pattern.
What is the pattern core? / Name the pattern core?
- Students identify the pattern.
- A clothes pin can be placed on the the color pattern or pattern name at the bottom of the card to indicate the pattern core.
