Description
Practice with one of the key components of cell and organismal homeostasis - cell transport. This lab examines and models cell membrane function using dialysis tubing. Students prepare tubes and fill them with varying concentrations of sucrose solutions and use laboratory equipment to monitor intracellular changes and a simple, fun, and engaging manner.
Our students love this lab, and when we use it as an inquiry activity it makes teaching osmosis a breeze.
What's inside:
-Two versions of the student handout (doc included for easy customization)
-Data tables, graphs, and concept maps appealing to all learning styles
-A teacher's guide with setup recommendations and tips
