This Cells PowerPoint is a highly visual 68 slide EDITABLE PowerPoint that has been designed as a very comprehensive lesson on cell structures and functions. 1) The Discovery of the Cell: These leading figures and their discoveries – Zacharias Janssen, Robert Hooke, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, Matthias Schleiden, Theodore Schwannand Rudolph Virchow.

2) Cell Theory: The three postulates of cell theory.

3) Cellular Requirements: Outlines the main needs for all cells.

4) Prokaryotes vs. Eukaryotes: A chart with diagrams to describe the main difference between the two types of cells.

5) Overview of the Three Important Cell Regions: i) cell membrane ii) nucleus iii) cytoplasm

6) Structures in Plant and Animal Cells: A Venn diagram illustrates which structures are common to both plants and animals and which structures are unique to each.

7) Cell Structures: For each of the following cell structures, there is a clear description of structure and function.
