This the first worksheet in the Challenge Problems series. Taken from Arithmetic through Calculus, these problems require not only an understanding of the basic concepts but, often, a bit of imagination. Any formula or definition (within reason) that is required to solve the problems will be given, all that the student has to supply is imagination and a little elbow grease. Each problem set is accompanied by a detailed set of solutions for each problem (sometimes more than one).
