Description

This activity is a student-centered and engaging activity to have the class notice the effects of changes in dimension on perimeter and area. It is entirely self-guided. Students will fill in a table to notice and wonder about connections as the calculate the perimeter and area of two figures with changes in dimensions. The guiding questions after will lead them to notice patterns and catch the rule for the effects of changes in dimension on area and perimeter.

You may choose to turn it into a foldable by printing a cover page. This would allow it to be glued conveniently to fit into notebooks.

There is an answer key attached.
