in order to encourage students to pay attention while reading chapter books as a class I developed this sheet. This allowed students to provide some written responses, but what was even more encouraging it also gave them spots to draw key events from the chapter. This combination did well with not only having students pay attention but to also look forward to sharing their chapter summary pages with the class.
