If you teaching middle school students to analyze how and why characters and events develop and interact over the course of a text (R.CCR.3) and need DIGITAL resources, then this is for you!
Middle School students will LEARN, PRACTICE and be ASSESSED for tracing the development of characters in any fiction text!
Objectives:
1. Students will learn key character development vocabulary
2. Students will learn a 3-step process to trace the development of characters in fiction. (This lesson will be the foundation for students to build on as they analyze additional texts throughout the school year!)
3. Students will practice applying the 3-step process with a new text in a digital self-checking game
4. Students will be assessed on the skill with a text-based self-grading quiz that uses standardized test questions.

Level 2: Fully printed picture flaps and fill in the blanks for students
Level 3: Pre-printed content and picture flaps that need to be positioned by the
student.
Level 4: Fill-in-the-blanks for content and picture flaps that need to be positioned
by the student.
★ Moveable picture flaps for levels 3 and 4
★ Text boxes already placed into the notes
★ Editable directions
★ Video that matches the notes. It is embedded into a slide with the student notes, but a link is also provided.
