It includes:
graphic organizer for the model; partner work formatting for guided practice and an independent assessment. It also includes a challenge or extension passage.
The teacher will model how to complete the graphic organizer utilizing a familiar passage of their choice. The teacher should model thinking while completing the chart. Next the students will work cooperatively with a partner to read included passage and complete character trait analysis. Finally the students will read a new passage for an independent or formative assessment, to be used for data analysis and next steps. A challenge passage is included to be utilized for early finishers or as an extension activity.
