Character traits are important for teaching reading skills and understanding characters. This character trait unit is designed to help kids understand the definition of character traits, provide teachers with anchor chart ideas, and character traits worksheets for formative assessments. This is a two week unit that includes a focus on understanding character emotions and describing the different kinds of character traits. Throughout the unit, students are asked to use events in a story to understand characters (inside character traits) and use details and illustrations to describe characters (outside character traits).
