Students have a list of transactions, instructions on account fees, five checks and a check register. They write checks when needed, record all transactions, and keep a running account balance.
Teachers can print the blank checks and check register on transparencies to model check writing and recording transactions for students. I generally model through the first debit card transaction, then have students complete the assignment on their own.

This was an excellent resource for my personal finance class. Students found it highly educational, and I strongly recommend it.
