Chilling Comparisons is an independent math center that asks students to use <, >, or = to compare two 2-digit numbers. Simply print, cut, and laminate, and the center is ready to go.

The center has a series of strips that contain two polar bear cubs with 2-digit numbers. The students find the comparison bear and place it in the box between the 2-digit numbers. There is one comparison bear per strip.

The center is aligned to 1st grade Common Core standard:

1.NBT.3 Compare two two-digit numbers based on the meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, and <.
