Description
Are you teaching the Ancient Chinese philosophies? Want to clarify the differences between Daoism, Confucianism, and Legalism? Do you value students grappling with real quotations? Download this resource!
What’s included:
- 2 Google Forms: These are your own copies of 2 digital worksheets, meaning you are the sole editor. These “Digital Worksheets” include multiple activities, which work to increase student familiarity with the three philosophies of Daoism, Confucianism, and Legalism, and foster their ability to apply these philosophies to real-life scenarios. **A Google Drive (free with Gmail) is required to access this resource**
- Instructions for Google Forms: A thorough set of instructions including how to assign/send a Google Form to your students, and how to review their answers after they have submitted.
- Index of additional resources: An answer key and selected images that are used in the Google Forms.
Highlights:
- Distance Learning: This resource is great for providing students with virtual work
- Independent Work: This resource is designed to be accessible for students to work on independently at their own pace.
- Thorough Practice with Philosophies: There is a total of six different activities covering the philosophies.
- Primary Source Quotes: In Worksheet 1, the students are given 3 grade-appropriate English translations of quotations from the philosophers, which they are then expected to rephrase in their own words.
- Real Life Applications: In Worksheet 2, there are various opportunities to apply the philosophies to real-life scenarios.
- Extension/Higher Order Thinking Questions: The final activities push students to the higher levels of Bloom’s taxonomy.
- Ready-to-Go: These are fully developed Google Forms that are ready to immediately send to your students.
- Automatically Grades Multiple Choice: All multiple-choice questions are already designed to be worth 1 point each, and will automatically grade when a student submits. (Please note this feature is optional, and instructions on how to turn it on or off are included in this resource)
- Answer Key Included: Answers to multiple-choice and ideal responses to short answers, where applicable.
- Editable: Since you are getting your own copy of the Google Form, you are free to add or remove questions as you’d like! Instructions on how to edit are included in this resource.
Each Digital Worksheet should take students about 30-45 minutes to complete. This assignment is based off of an independent work packet I’ve used with my classes for Spring Break work. While providing multiple activities in order to reinforce content, they are also designed to “chunk” the work into manageable sizes for students to handle on their own. Please note that Worksheet 1 teaches students the content, while Worksheet 2 provides additional practice but requires that students have already learned the content in Worksheet 1.
