Description
This countdown is packed with amazing skill practice that is fun and exciting for students. It can be tailored to fit the needs of your classroom, made into a countdown book, or displayed in the classroom. I use as independent practice but also as whole group to display outside our classroom for the other students to see how many days we have left. You can countdown to Christmas or just to your Christmas break. These pages will also tell you which students truly understand their numbers 1-20 enough to represent them in multiple formats.
You can use this for morning work also or to supplement your morning routine during December!

They will enjoy this! I am not sure all of them will be able to fully do it, but the number sense will help.
Right! You'll probably need to use the tree version to draw ornaments on for the number. My suggestion would be to model strategies on the first few pages and if necessary always do the add/sub portion guided. You can highlight on the ten frames and tallies and use the number line to help them see the addition and subtraction problems. I'm sure you will also have kiddos that can knock it out of the park and won't need the support!
