Are you looking for a fun math review Christmas activity for your first grade students? This is an interactive first grade math review scoot game that allows students to practice math skills. It can be used as task cards, write the room, or scoot game activity.

It is US Christmas theme with fun pictures. This scoot game will have your students up and moving around the room. Color and black and white options are included. There is a structured recording sheet with prompts on it for students who need some assistance/guidance and a blank one included (Along with an answer key). This game would be helpful as practice for 1st grade students and a review for 2nd grade students.

This is a math review scoot activity. To use this activity, I suggest you laminate and then cut each page to make them last longer. To play this game you would cut out each card and tape them around the room (or place them on desks/tables). Each student will have a recording sheet (both blank and structured recording sheets included). Students can be in pairs. They will stand at a card, solve the problem on the card, and record their answer in the respective box on the recording sheet. You can set a timer for 1 or 2 minutes. When the timer goes off say “SCOOT!” and they will move to the next card. This is a great activity for review and to get the students moving around the room!

Directions for the game are included.

I hope you and your students enjoy this resource!

Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 – 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8.
