Making a Ten original version

Make a ten strategy is easy and fun with this making ten cut, sort and paste activity!

"Is there an easier way to add 8+3 without counting on my fingers?" Teacher says, "Make a 10 first!"

This is a cut, sort and paste to see the different ways to see 11 (10+1) and 12 (10+2, which is also 8+3 as above). The activity is 3-pages each, with your choice for students to use ten frame or expressions. This could be used as a math center or formative assessment to check whether students know to compose a ten.
