Description

This Christmas slope activity is a fun, self-checking way for students to practice finding slope from graphs, points, and equations. With each correct answer, they earn presents. No prep needed -  just assign and watch your algebra students find the slope of a line while enjoying a bit of holiday cheer!

Overview - Students will find slope from various given information such as:

A line on the coordinate plane, two points, given a line parallel or perpendicular, or an equation in standard form.


Special Features:

  • Self-checking - students love the immediate feedback
  • Attempt Tracker - You’ll love being able to see how many tries it took a students to reach the correct answer (it also deters ‘guess and check!’)
  • Possible solutions are provided in an answer bank - inputting answers is as easy as typing A, B, C


Easily modify for class levels and abilities!

Students can complete all 12 questions and try to accumulate as many presents as possible OR you can determine a certain amount of presents students can earn (ie: “Earn 15 presents”), and students can answer questions in any order.

  • Link to create your own copy of the Google Sheet
  • About the Activity
  • Teacher and Student Directions
  • Paper worksheet that students can use to show their work
  • Answer Keys
