Description
This Christmas performance package brings the entire "Twas The Night Before Christmas" poem to life musically on stage. It can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, a church children’s program, or a drama program instructor.
The principal just wants a calm, traditional Christmas program… and she suggests reading the classic poem “’Twas The Night Before Christmas”, but the enthusiastic music teacher just can’t help interjecting some modern fun. Before long the stuffy principal embraces the modern tunes and even joins in! By the end they all embrace the fact that “Christmas is Everywhere”… in the calm, traditional and in the upbeat and modern.
This show was originally performed by 40 students in my drama program (K-5th). I divided them into 4 cast groups of 10 students. However this show could easily be performed by less or more students depending on your class/classes and your stage.
Some grouping options are:
-One class (25 students) split into 4 cast groups
-Four classes each taking a cast group
-Eight classes with two classes in each cast group
The cast groups can be costumed however you like! I choose : Reindeer, Christmas Trees, Candy Canes, and Elves.
(Some other possibilities I considered were Gifts, Carolers, Winter dress, Santa hats, Snowmen, Snowflakes, and Tacky Sweaters. )
This product contains the entire script, skits, song and dance music recommendations and links, full color printable participation certificate, various tools for organization and posting, ideas for costumes, show management, props and stage décor!!!
