Description

Plan out decorating the perfect Christmas Tree with this Math PBL specifically designed for early elementary.

This math project based learning task was specifically designed to be an introduction to PBL tasks perfect for Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade.

Give your students real-world application with math by having them plan out how they would decorate their very own Christmas tree this year! Work on reviewing and practicing and applying addition and subtraction skills as your students complete this Christmas PBL.

Students can choose their tree style, a tree topper, the tree bottom, lights, and the ornaments they want to incorporate to make their Christmas tree unique while sticking to a $20 dollar budget. Once students complete the task using the brainstorming page and the budget tracker page, expand this assignment by having students create the Christmas tree they designed by using one of the two "my decorated tree" pages. This would make the perfect bulletin board or hallway display.
