These decoding practice cards have students use the decoding strategy of chunking letters and sounds together when reading. It is the perfect activity for decoding words practice using chunking. The decoding activity includes three sets of cards and over 50 total cards.
Laminate the cards and have students circle sounds and chunks. Students write the chunks under the words in dry erase markers!
I use these as an intro to my guided reading groups and my students use them for independent and partner practice with decoding.
