Description

The PowerPoint is loaded with cool animations, pictures, quotes, video links, and interesting facts/vital content for students. It hits on key components of the Civil Rights Movement including the historical buildup of legislation, or lack thereof, leading to the seeking of a more fair and equal society (Dred Scott, Plessy vs Ferguson, etc.). It then focuses on pioneers of the movement such as Jackie Robinson, MLK, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, etc. SNCC, SCLC, NAACP, Brown vs Board, Little Rock, sit-ins, freedom riders, etc.

It is neatly organized and flows well. Look for the asterisks next to certain terms, people, etc... those are there for students to underline/highlight for the quiz (NOT included), which means you don't need a review sheet because it's all there in the notes!

The notes are concise allowing students to focus on the lesson. They also have built in bellworks and focus questions. Please note they contain the content, but not quotes, supplemental information, etc. Basically, everything you need without dragging the kids down in detail.

I love this resource and so did my students. Perhaps changing the background color to something lighter would help though - the green made it difficult for some students to read. Otherwise we loved it!

That's awesome! So glad you found it beneficial :) Noted on the background color ;) Please explore other products. Vietnam, WWI, WWII, Civil War, etc. are some of the stronger units :)
