This research project takes students on a learning journey from slavery in Kentucky( can be edited for your specific state) to modern Civil Rights Leaders of the 21st century. Students will learn about the Underground Railroad, The Harlem Hellraisers, the two phases of the Great Migration, Civil Rights activists and protests, and compare the SCLC to the Black Panther Party. To engage young learners, there is information on Civil Rights Hip Hop artists, as well as African American innovators.
