Description

This pack of clam dissection activities features detailed diagrams designed specifically for Marine Science Students. These diagrams are ideal for quizzes, homework, review work, supplemental lesson material or test preparation. Answer keys are included.

Items included in the Clam Dissection Packet listing:

-Clam Anatomy Identification and Functionality worksheet

- Clam Dissection Instructions

- Clam Dissection Checklist.

- Clam Dissection Write-Up

- Internal Anatomy of a Bivalve diagram

- External and Internal Anatomy of a Bivalve Shell

- Keys for all of the above items

I have used the content in my classroom with my students. The different assignments included can be used in any order, however I have placed them in the order I use them with my students. The first page of the PDF will give more detailed information on how I use each item. The diagrams include a list of terms students will use to label each anatomical part. These images are black and white and are perfect for students to color-code parts during identification. I use the clam dissection in my classroom to compare anatomy between the classes, introduce new content, review before the unit test, and assessment during the unit. It can be paired with defining vocabulary as well! It is designed to print and give directly to the students.

Easy to follow dissection activity. I used some of the pictures as a pre-lab anatomy coloring activity which helped students identify atamony during the dissection.

The resource is easy to use and students found it engaging. My only issue is the key for the identification and functionality chart is largely incorrect for the letter(s)/number(s) portion of the table. It is an easy fix. I would recommend the resource.

Thank you so much for your input! You helped me realize I was using an old key from before I changed one of the diagrams. I will look it over and make corrections for future purchasers.
