"I am going to teach this as a lesson in March. I appreciated the prepared PowerPoint so I can send to a couple students who will be gone this week."

Description

This presentation covers the classification essay, which is a very good starting point for teaching students how to write a very basic five paragraph essay. Before students can begin writing lengthy and complex research papers, they have to write about something they know, and they have to have a basic organizational structure in which to write.

In this presentation, they learn that they already understand classification, or putting things in categories. The presentation itself gives them classification ideas, and it walks them through the pre-writing and outlining phases of writing a classification paper.

Good assignment. I like how students were asked to include a photo--it adds a multi-modal aspect.
