Description
This is a great diagram to show students the subsets of Real Numbers. It helps students see the connection between the different number systems and is a helpful aid when learning the real number systems. The blank copy can be used for a quiz or practice. Students may benefit from seeing multiple visuals, so another graphic organizer was provided.
When I teach this, I give the example of classifying 4. I ask, does 4 belong to the Natural numbers? Yes, so then it must be a whole, integer, rational, and real. If you say "yes" to one of the subsets it is then everything above it since the filter is getting wider. Seems to help!
