Description

This lab activity allows students to create their own H-R Diagram with given star data. Students will analyze the data and understand the relationship between temperature, luminosity, size and color. Making their own diagram will help to solidify the concepts. This worked great with my own students!

An amazing YouTube video is included so the students can see a size comparison of different stars.

This activity was a little more advances than my kiddo was ready for, but he still did a great job. It was great supplement for my lesson.

I used this resource as students were becoming more familiar with HR diagrams. They had already watched several videos on using HR diagrams, but this gave them the opportunity to practice analyzing data and creating graphs. They may have struggled a little at first, but once they got used to temperature and luminosity it was not hard for them to continue filling in the chart.
