Description

Classifying types of triangles and finding missing angles and sides is the focus of this Footloose task card activity, which also includes the Triangles Math Wheel for notes and practice!

  • This combination of resources is a fantastic way to engage students in taking notes and then get them moving while they practice concepts!

The easy-prep triangles task card file includes:

  • 30 Footloose task cards (a set with a background and a set without)
  • Footloose grid
  • Answer key

The Footloose cards require students to:

  • Classify triangles by sides (isosceles, equilateral, scalene)
  • Classify triangles by angles (acute, obtuse, right)
  • Find missing angles
  • Find missing sides

The Math Wheel for note-taking can be used to introduce or review concepts before you use the task cards! The wheel file includes:

  • THREE versions of the student wheel:
    • ‘Open’ for students to write notes - this version is most flexible, space-wise
    • ‘Fill-in’ notes, to help students’ use of space
    • Pre-filled notes; answers to examples and practice problems are NOT on this version
  • Teacher key/wheel with completed notes and examples
  • Colored sample of wheel
  • A PowerPoint file that has a blank wheel with background, so you can add text to make your own math wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial use).

⭐️There's also a digital version of these task cards (no math wheel, but includes a Forms quiz), AND a mini-bundle of the print and digital.

What teachers have to say about the Triangles Task Cards:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I used these as stations/task cards outside and my students had a blast. It is so great finding ways to get kids moving during math!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I love using task cards. This was a quick resource to print and cut for my students to practice in pairs. I always place task cards around the room so students can be up, moving around, and talking with their peers about different problems."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "The math wheel is a fun take on learning new vocabulary and I look forward to using it in interactive notebooks in coming years. The task cards also helped with triangle type vocabulary and was perfect for centers and small group work!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This was a great resource to use for extra practice with triangles. Thank you!"
