Slides that go with Module 2 (3 weeks) of HMH IntoReading Each slide includes a definition, a turn and talk, and a corresponding image to help students conceptualize the words. My routine: Introduce word with hand motion (cross arms for guard), have students repeat, read definition using same hand motion when coming across the word, have students repeat, engage in quick turn and talk to allow students to relate to the vocabulary word.

I have... Who has? Using ir, er, ur words, students play in whole group or small groups to read words with these spelling patterns. I found it great practice during review/after concept has been taught!

A cute handprint activity for younger students. I laminated my students' after drying. So sweet for parents/caregivers to hold onto as their little hands grow.

Fun way to incorporate interests and figurative language!

ANTonyms! Students have to find the antonym of a given word written on each ant. Super cute to do & make into a display in the classroom to refer back to!
